From Our Colorado Table Pueblo Favorites
Food • Family • Heritage • Southern Colorado
Pueblo’s food traditions tell the story of families, neighborhoods, farms, gatherings, and cultures that came together in Southern Colorado. We begin close to home — with Italian-American favorites and dishes unmistakably connected to Pueblo — then grow the collection outward through Colorado, one community and one family table at a time.
The First Colorado Layer
Pueblo & Southern Colorado Favorites
The first six recipes begin with the Italian-American table and the traditions familiar to Lodge families. Beginning with Pueblo Green Chile, the ribbon opens into the broader foods and flavors that make Pueblo unmistakably Pueblo.
More Than a Recipe Card
The Food Is Only the Beginning
Each finished recipe page will preserve not only the ingredients and preparation, but also the family story, the cultural tradition, and the local places that help keep that food tradition alive.
A Matter of Tradition
Regional names, immigrant customs, family variations, and Southern Colorado adaptations deserve their own place in the story — including conversations such as Sugo, Red Sauce, and Sunday Gravy.
Explore It Locally
Recipe pages are designed to connect naturally with IHCN restaurants, bakeries, markets, farms, specialty food sources, and other local providers as those relationships are added.
Watch It Made
A reserved video area will allow families — or the Lodge video team — to demonstrate preparation while preserving the voices, memories, and people behind a treasured family recipe.
The Family Recipe Legacy Project
Preserve Your Family Recipe — and the Story Behind It
Some recipes are more than instructions. They are the smell of a grandmother’s kitchen, a dish served every Christmas, a picnic tradition, or something a family carried with them to Colorado. We want to help preserve those recipes with full credit to the author and family that shared them.
For participating families, Lodge 2738’s video team may also be available to record the preparation on location — creating a lasting family memory as well as a recipe others can enjoy.
The submission system will collect the recipe, contributor or family name, Colorado community, recipe story, optional family photograph, and permission to publish with full attribution.
Upload Your Favorite Recipe
The full Lodge 2738 family-recipe upload form is the next part of this project. Approved recipes will be published with clear credit to the contributor and/or family.
